Mountain cabin with wood fired sauna next to lake

Enjoy relaxation in our newly renovated cabin nestled in the silence of the forest by a beautiful lake. Only 15 minutes from Romme Alpin and 5 minutes from the Gyllbergen nature reserve with 80 km of hiking trails and cross-country skiing trails. Perfect for the ski holiday or just to be out in nature. Experience a wood-fired sauna, swimming, hiking, mushroom and berry picking, fishing and skiing. Renovated in 2023 with a focus on comfort with a large fireplace. The cottage consists of a hall with hanging space and entrance to the bathroom. A small hall leads on to the bedroom and living room/kitchen. The bedroom has a view of the lake and has a double bed (160 cm) that can be divided into two 80 cm beds. The living room has a large fireplace, a 2-seater sofa bed (140 cm) and an armchair and coffee table. The kitchen, which is at the other end of the living room, is fully equipped with a kitchen table with seating for 4 people. The bathroom is equipped with a shower and combustion toilet.

Newly built private wood-burning sauna with lake view is next to the cottage.

Wood is included for both the cabin and the sauna.

The cottage has a lake view of Lake Gomen. The Spånsans Fäbodar cottage area runs along one side of the lake and is a traditional village consisting of old classic wooden shacks with a gable yard, which are typical for Dalarna. Really worth seeing! The village is only 200 meters from the cottage and is most easily reached on foot (see map). All around there is only forest and nature. There is a beautiful path to walk around the lake (4 km), follow the signs from the village ("Spånsanstugan" on the map). The forest is full of blueberries, lingonberries and mushrooms.

About 2 km walk (or 5 min with picture) is the Gyllbergen nature reserve. Gyllbergen's highland and roadless wilderness area offers great opportunities for outdoor life in both summer and winter. Here you get a mountain feeling and it is called "Sweden's southernmost mountain" because of its high altitude and its mountain-like landscape. Several cabins, wind shelters and marked summer and winter trails make outdoor life easier. There are up to 80 km of groomed ski tracks here in winter. There are also ski tracks in the Tuna-Hästberg area, which is 3 km from the cabin.

Sometimes ski tracks are prepared directly to Spånsanstugan, take a look in the app "ski tracks" and look for the areas "Gyllbergen" and "Tuna-Hästberg" and read the updates to see if these trails have been tracked. There is, among other things, a ski trail from Spånsanstugan to Äventyrsgruvan, which is sometimes tracked, about 8 km long.

In the neighboring village of Tuna-Hästberg, there is also an adventure mine to visit with activities for the whole family, including climbing on the mine's Via Ferrata system and cable car over a crystal clear lake, as well as a sauna 80 meters below ground by an underground lake.
