Built in the 1800s, our limestone house lies in an authentic and peaceful Gotland
village, situated in a nature conservation area. Here on southeastern Fårö, by
Ryssnäs, the birdlife is rich, and lambs graze freely outside. The nature is fantastic,
it´s a 10-minute walk to endless stone beaches that boast the area´s signature raukar, or columns of rock, and 1.500 kilometer to Fårö´s white sand beaches.
From the house, you can walk down gravel-lined paths leading past meadows,
along stone walls, and for those who want to take longer walks, around Dämba
lake. The closest grocery store is in Fårösund, about 5 kilometers away.
The house: an old stone house with thick limestone walls and two floors. Bottom
floor: kitchen with seating for four, stove heating a bedroom with two beds,
bathroom with shower and heating coiles and a little window. The house lets a lot of
light in, and the evening sun illuminates the kitchen through the glass of the wide
entry door. Top floor: living room with sofa, TV with basic channels, big window
facing south, and the other bedroom, which also has two beds. Wide-beamed wood
floor. In total, the house sleeps four. An area outside offers the possibility to grill.
No smokers and no pets, please.
Driving directions: Travel to Fårösund, and take the ferry over to Fårö. Then, take the
big road towards Fårö kyrka, turn right at the sign ”Dämba”, then go five kilometers
further. Our house is in the last stone village before Dämba lake.
