On the hill at Hunninge, people have lived and worked for more than a thousand years.
The present house began as a single-room limestone cottage in the 18th century. Sometime in the 19th century the main structure was extended, and in 1901 the time came to add a rear extension. Online you can find the names of everyone who has lived on the farm since the early 1700s.
When the family bought the house in 2004, a careful renovation began. Interior walls, wall-to-wall carpets and ceiling tiles from the 1970s were torn out, and bit by bit the limestone walls and the old wooden floors emerged.
## INDOORS
Today the house has seven rooms, four of which are bedrooms.
The chamber has a bed for two (140 cm).
The main bedroom has a double bed (2 × 90 cm).
In the attic chamber, two adults can sleep in the wide bed (160 cm).
There is also a double bed in the large attic room (2 × 80 cm).
The bathroom has a tiled shower, a washing machine, and a heated stone floor.
The kitchen has a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and a working wood-burning stove. The kitchen is fully equipped with most kinds of china, glassware, and household appliances, including a microwave.
French doors lead from the kitchen out to the dining area in the garden.
The bedroom also has French doors out to the dining area. It is wonderful to wake up here and look out over the fields and the sea.
The dining room has windows facing three directions and always lets in the last daylight before the sun sets over the sea.
The living room has a wood stove that, when needed, can heat the entire room. There is also a wall-mounted TV connected to an Apple TV, along with good speakers.
The house has wireless internet supplied by 1000 Mbit/s fibre from Fröjel Fiber.
In the attic there is an additional sitting room.
## OUTDOORS
In front of the house, facing the sea and Klintehamn, lies a green area of about 4,000 square metres with many fruit trees and another dining area in the shade.
From the outdoor seating areas you can watch the sun set into the sea.
On the other side of the house stands a large limestone barn that also belongs to the property.
And to the south-west lies a pasture of about 10,000 square metres, enclosed by stentun (drystone walls).
Traffic along Hunningevägen is virtually non-existent — perhaps 3–4 cars a day. The children can run freely!
