This cozy cottage in Köpmannebro is beautifully nestled in a forest clearing, surrounded by a small garden with several outdoor seating areas. Nature experiences are right on your doorstep—offering adventure and easy access to both lakes and local attractions.
Close to the lake, swimming, and fishing
Lake Ånimmen is just 350 meters from the cottage, featuring a lovely swimming area and fishing opportunities (fishing permit required). Sweden’s largest lake, Vänern, is also a short distance away. The public beach at Vita Sannar is less than 20 minutes from the cottage. The cottage serves as a perfect base for exploring some of Dalsland’s most beautiful nature reserves, such as Svankila, Ryr, and Yttre Bodane. The area offers hiking trails, forests teeming with berries and mushrooms, mirror-like lakes, and magnificent views—providing nature experiences for everyone from beginners to seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
On the large south-facing deck, you can enjoy leisurely breakfasts and lazy afternoons. It is the perfect spot for barbecues and dining al fresco. The cottage sleeps a total of five people: a sofa bed (140 cm) for two in the living room, a bedroom with two 80 cm beds, and a smaller bedroom with one 80 cm bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven/stove, fridge/freezer, microwave, and coffee maker. The living room offers a cozy atmosphere with a wood-burning stove for cooler evenings and a dining table; double doors lead directly out onto the deck. The bathroom is fresh and equipped with a toilet, washbasin, and shower (please note that the hot water supply is limited if you are a large group). A washing machine is also available.
Here, you stay close to nature yet within easy reach of everything you need. A short drive of just over 10 minutes takes you to the town of Mellerud, featuring a shopping center, health center, bank, travel center, Sunnanå golf course, a marina, and more. Just over 5 km from your accommodation lies the Köpmannebro lock—the first lock on the Dalsland Canal. Down by the locks, you will also find one of the canal's charming lockside cafés. The famous Håverud Aqueduct on the Dalsland Canal is only 17 km away—a must-visit during your stay.
