Welcome to a charming traditional country house in a small village just outside Lidköping. Surrounded by fields, forests and the beautiful shores of Lake Vänern, this is a place to slow down and enjoy the Swedish countryside. The house is my home part of the year and has been furnished with care. Family heirlooms, flea market finds and carefully chosen details create a warm and personal atmosphere.
The house most likely dates back to the late 19th century. It has been altered and renovated over the years, but many original interior features have been preserved. A traditional tiled stove, a wood-burning kitchen stove and an additional fireplace all add to the authentic character and make the house especially cosy during the colder months.
The lush garden and secluded patio invite you to relax and unwind. Listen to the wind moving across the fields, the swallows and sparrows singing and, now and then, the call of cranes in the distance. If you're lucky, you might even spot a white-tailed eagle soaring above the landscape.
The quiet country roads around the village are perfect for walking and cycling. The Vänern archipelago is only a few kilometres away, offering beautiful swimming spots and calm waters ideal for kayaking. In autumn, the surrounding forests are excellent for mushroom picking. Popular destinations such as Läckö Castle, Kinnekulle and the town of Lidköping are all within easy reach. A cosy café, a restaurant and a grocery store are also nearby.
High-speed fibre internet is available, making the house an ideal place if you would like to combine your holiday with remote work.
Guests have access to most of the house. The ground floor includes a fully equipped kitchen, living room, bathroom with shower and one bedroom. Upstairs you'll find a second bedroom, a cosy sitting room with a wood-burning stove, a bathroom with a bathtub and a balcony.
My private bedroom and art studio are not included in the rental. As this is my home part of the year, a few cupboards and drawers are marked Private. Thank you for respecting this.
I hope you'll enjoy the peace and quiet, the surrounding nature and the special atmosphere that make this house such a wonderful place to stay. A warm welcome!
