In the summer of 2020, we bought this Dalsland cottage built in 1863 and have since devoted all free time on renovation. The house has received a newly built bathroom, a new kitchen, and two renovated bedrooms and an office. In 2022, we expanded the house with 30m2 living room. The total size of the house is 120m2.
Towels and hotel-sheets are included, and the beds are made before arrival.
There's access to a private bathing bay with cliffs, jetty and a wood fired hot tub located 1km from the cottage.
When time allows, we love to take our guests on free guided walks through the beautiful, unspoiled forests surrounding the family’s ancestral farm, which is also located in the village. Each walk can be tailored to your interests – whether you prefer a short one-hour stroll or a full-day hike with themes like outdoor adventure, scenic viewpoints, dramatic landscapes, or ecology and sustainability.
Our family has cared for this land for generations. Today, the Airbnb helps us finance the farm so we can move away from traditional clear-cut logging practices towards more sustainable forestry. Our goal is to protect biodiversity, increase carbon storage, and keep the forest healthy for future generations – while giving you a chance to experience its beauty up close.
