Barnhouse on Flatön – Swedish West Coast

Welcome to our barnhouse on Flatön – a light-filled, handcrafted home on our family farm dating back to 1873. A short walk through the coastal forest leads to the pier and the granite shoreline by the sea.

Here, tradition meets quiet comfort: reclaimed timber, natural materials, soft light and a fully equipped kitchen with a Lofra stove. Outside, a meadow with a hammock, a simple grill and an outdoor bathtub under the open sky.

From 2026, the adjoining loge (approx. 60 sqm) is included – an airy, uninsulated space for shared meals, quiet mornings, reading or yoga.

The house

Approx. 85 sqm over two floors.

Ground floor:
– Open kitchen and dining area
– Bathroom with bathtub
– Doors opening towards the loge

First floor:
– Living room
– Two bedrooms (double beds, can be separated)

Materials & craftsmanship

Reclaimed doors and windows from the 1800s, restored and painted with linseed oil. Simple, honest materials throughout.
