A blacksmith’s workshop from the 18th century

The renovation of this place, this “smithy”, took almost a year and involved many of the local craftsmen. The result is a beautiful, comfortable smithy with lots of character, down to the last detail, the highest possible quality.

The smithy is secluded, quiet and with a fantastic view. Less than 1 km from Austre beach. One of Gotland's best, where you can get by bike through “Lunden”, the pinewood.

On the bottom floor you will find a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable chairs, and a warming stove. On the beautiful limestone floor lies a sheepskin. Through the glass door to the east, you come out onto a terrace where you can have your breakfast in the morning sun and in total privacy.

The shower room is generous. A beautiful sturdy limestone top covers a washing machine and provides space for a sink and baby-changing table. The shower is large. Another small sink under the window, allows you to brush your teeth while your gaze wanders out over the fields!

A narrow staircase with a beautiful iron railing leads to the upper level. A gate slows down the little ones. Upstairs there are 5 comfortable beds, space for storage and a wonderful view from the bench under the expanded window.

A cold room on the north end of the smithy, with an additional refrigerator and freezer, as well as shelves for storage. Electrical heating in all the limestone floors and wifi.

The smithy is a place to find peace. Here you can read good books from the bookshelf or bring your own, relax in sun loungers or hike in untouched nature and then come home and cook a delicious dinner. Or cycle to one of the many restaurants on “Storsudret”. The day can end with an evening swim.
