Cosy cottage by hiking route and sea
Torpet, "The Cottage", is small but very charming and has just been refurbished.
You find it next to our coach house at the edge of the forest with wild strawberries
and bilberries right on your doorstep.
It has a living room/kitchen with cooker, fridge/freezer and sinkas well as a little
wood-burning stove. The bedroom is very small but has two comfortable beds.
There is also WC and shower.
You find great backroads and lovely woods with lots of berries, mushrooms, wild
animals and interesting flowers. The nearest place to go swimming is in the sea 1,5
km away. It takes you 10 min by car to the nearest golf course, Väddö Golfbana.
Another place to swim is a lovely lake with a great beach suitable for smaller
children and a beach volleyball court. There is a larger supermarket, bank and
postoffice in Älmsta which is 9 km away. The Norrtälje bus stops at the end of our
driveway (No 645). We have a few bicycles and a small rowing boat that you can
borrow for excursions.

From Stockholm, follow E18 to Norrtälje and then signs for Grisslehamn. After
village of Söderbykarl on the main Grisslehamn road take a right at sign for Norra
Råda and then left in Norra Råda. Drive 50 meters and then take right and follow
signs for Nyby. At Nyby sign you see 20 km signs. This is our road. Follow the road
50m and you have the cottage in to the left by the edge of the forest.
From Arlanda Airport
Follow signs for Norrtälje and in Norrtälje follow signs for Grisslehamn.

Norra Råda and then left in Norra Råda. Drive 50 meters and then take right and
follow signs for Nyby. At Nyby sign you see 20km signs. This is our road. Follow the

Jättemysigt liten stuga, perfekt för två vuxna. Vi var där i en vecka och hade det väldigt bra.
Vi klarade oss utan bil, tack vare att vi kunde låna cyklar till båda samt att det går att ta sig dit kommunalt. Vi cyklade till närmaste badplats 1,5 km bort för att äta enkel lunch (de soliga dagar det var öppet) och samt till Gåsviks restaurang 5 km bort. För att slippa ta oss längre bort för inköp fick vi t.o.m. mjölk till kaffet när vårt tog slut.
Jag tyckte att vattnet smakade för mkt järn, men det gick att lösa genom att hämta vatten från ett annat hus, inga större problem.
Det enda negativa var att det inte fanns några mysiga promenadstråk i närheten.
Kan verkligen rekommendera denna stuga och det trevliga paret som hyr ut!

Här bodde vi 2 v i juli under värmebölja. Fantastiskt fint litet hus omgivet av grönska. Allt fanns som vi behövde. Ombonat och välutrustat. Genomtänkt inredning. Utemöbler med dynor. Med höga träd runt fanns det alltid en skuggig plats att vila på. Lugnt och stillsamt. Med fågelsång och får som bräker är en definitivt långt från staden.
Boendet ligger nära vatten men en måste ta sig en bit, minst 1 km för bad. Men med bil/ cykel är det inget problem. Vi återkommer gärna!

Så mysigt uti skogen med underbara promenad och cykelvägar.
Nära till Älmsta och välsorterad affär.
Vi cyklade längst Väddö Kanal, runt på olika småvägar vid Nyby, även en sväng på Roslagsleden.
Badkrukor som vi är så provade vi inte att bada på de 2 närmsta badplatserna, däremot fikade vi på den ena och tittade över mot Barnens Ö.
Mycket trevliga värdar
Planerar för nytt besök om 2 år.

Cozy cottage, charming place, excellent food. The landlord is thoughtful, considerate and attentive. The surroundings are well taken care of and busting with nature.
