Located on a dead-end lane in the woods, on the edge of Glaskogen National Park. Here you can wander endlessly, swim in the countless lakes, pick berries, look for mushrooms, go canoeing, practice yoga, hike, cycle, build campfires... or simply do nothing.
The bedroom contains a double bed and a single bed. The sofa in the living room is a sofa bed. Ideal for 2 adults with 2 children, or 3 adults. The house is heated by a beautiful wood stove that forms the centerpiece of the living room.
The kitchen is simple, and our guests usually cook outside over the fire or on the electric hotplate. The wood-fired stove or oven can also be used. Water is drawn from the well or the stream; there is no running water. A water filter is available.
There is a simple outdoor shower, and the hardy ones can wash in the stream. There is a modern dry toilet in the outbuilding, which also serves as the traditional Swedish löppis.
Distance to swimming water: 10-minute walk.
The wooden cottage of approximately 65m² stands on 2,000 square meters of land. There is plenty of privacy on the property; your only neighbor is the landlord. This is convenient if you have questions about the area, for example, or would like a helping hand with the fire or similar matters.
The surroundings are characterized by numerous lakes, vast forests, and raised bogs. There are endless hiking trails and canoe routes. Karlstad and Arvika are also nearby, offering various restaurants, shops, and museums.
Nature begs to be discovered. You are allowed to simply leave the path here, allowing you to truly go on a journey of discovery. Just make sure you don't get lost (too much), as the national park is large. You may encounter animals here such as the moose, fox, hare, adder, bear, wolf, deer, and, if you are lucky, of course, the lynx. In the national park, there are many shelters with fire pits (and often wood) that you can use. Often located by the water. Swimming and grilling!
