Welcome to our lovely, unusual old house in Visseltofta, a small picturesque village as close to the Småland border as you can get in Skåne.

The old café is located both in the middle of the village and close to nature with an adjacent pasture and nature plot with a small stream. Over the years it has been an obvious meeting point as a café, party room, telephone exchange, hair salon, library and meringue bakery. Now you can also become a part of its colorful history. The old café is spacious both inside and out and has room for 10 people.

As guests in the old café, you will have room on approximately 140 square meters on three floors. The large living room, dining room, kitchen, a large hall, a toilet and a bedroom are on the ground floor. The upper floor houses the other three bedrooms as well as two small living rooms and a toilet. And in the basement you have access to a washing machine and freezer, sauna and bathroom with shower, toilet and sink.

Every room in the house has its own story – the banquet hall that has hosted everything from weddings to funerals, the café room where the local youth gathered, the library that offered new worlds, the hair salon where the ladies had their hair done, the telephone exchange (later a telephone booth) and not least the meringue bakery. Because in the basement of the house the legendary Visseltoftat cake was baked – a pragmatic and very good solution to the problem that the baker was allergic to flour.

History has given the house its unique charm with some both exciting and less practical solutions, such as many small steps and the fact that there are three toilets and a sauna but only one shower. The large garden is bordered by a horse paddock and a babbling brook. The lawn is great for games and play, while a refreshing walk on the wild and almost hidden plot down to the shallow Lillån is romantic and exciting!

The old café dates back to the 19th century and we of course hope that it will remain in Visseltofta for many more centuries. So we would be grateful if you leave the house in the same condition, neat and tidy, and with the same furnishings in the rooms (including carpets and bedspreads in the bedrooms) as you found it upon arrival. Please note that the following are not included in the fee:

1. Cleaning and waste sorting. You are expected to leave the house as neat and clean as on arrival. There is a checklist for cleaning and garbage sorting and cleaning equipment. If cleaning or garbage sorting is not satisfactory, we are unfortunately forced to charge a penalty, but we would prefer not to.

2. Bed linen, such as sheets and pillowcases, and towels are not included. Bed dimensions double beds: 2 x 180x200 and 1 x 210x200 cm. Single beds: 2 x 90x200 cm. Bunk beds: 2 x 80x200 cm. The dimensions are also stated in the respective bedroom image.

Barbeque facilities – There is a barbecue by the dining area. Guests bring their own charcoal and lighting equipment.
Broadband – Fiber optic network is installed in the house, so the internet connection is both very stable and fast. It is easy to connect to wifi.

Separate bedrooms – Das Haus verfügt über vier separate Schlafzimmer: zwei Zimmer mit Doppelbetten, ein Zimmer mit einem Doppelbett und einem Etagenbett sowie ein Zimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten.
TV – The TV, which is in the large living room, is connected to wifi and some channels are included.

WC – There are three toilets in the house - one on each floor.

Nearby

Boat rental – In Vesljungasjön, it is possible to borrow a boat for those who buy a fishing license.
Canoe rental – Helge River flows through Visseltofta and there are several opportunities to rent canoes in the area - the closest between Kornberga (approx. 6 km) and Visseltofta.
Fishing – There are many fishing opportunities in the area. The nearest is in Helge å which runs through Visseltofta, but there are also many lakes nearby - usually a fishing license is required.
Football ground – Visseltofta football pitch is a few hundred meters walk from the house.
Golf – Wittsjö Golf Club, in Ubbalt between Visseltofta and Vittsjö (15 km)
Hiking trails – Many nice forest paths, trails and roads directly from Visseltofta. And about 7.6 km to Verum and Skåneleden stage 8 to Osby and 9 to Vittsjö.
Indoor swimming facilities – The nearest indoor sports hall is in Osby (11 km).
Minigolf – There is an opportunity to play mini golf in Osby (11 km), Markaryd (15 km) and Vittsjö (15 km).
Outdoor swimming facilities (beach) – Within walking distance, a couple of hundred meters from the house, there is a nice swimming spot by the Helge River with a bathing jetty. And 5 km further away (to the west) there is a very popular and nice swimming lake with a sandy beach and jetty.
Playground – About 100 meters from the house - at the local history museum - there is a public playground.
