Description of the area

Located in Snasahögarna Fritidsby, at the foot of Mount Storsnasen, this fantastic mountain cabin offers an exceptional setting in the heart of the Swedish mountains. Skiing, ski touring, snowmobiling, hiking and fishing are all available right outside the door, with the mountains as your closest neighbour.

The location is ideal both for an active mountain holiday and for those who simply want to enjoy peace, nature and spectacular views. Storulvån Mountain Station is approximately 10 minutes away, Storlien around 15 minutes, and Duved/Åre approximately 30–35 minutes by car. Restaurants, shops and other services are also easily accessible in the surrounding area.

During winter, the area offers excellent opportunities for downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, ski touring, backcountry skiing and snowmobiling. You can combine days on the slopes in Åre, Duved and Storlien with ski touring in the mountains around Storsnasen. Several excellent peaks are located nearby, with some of Sweden’s finest ski-touring terrain and vertical descents of up to approximately 800 metres.

Cross-country ski tracks and snowmobile trails are located directly next to the cabin and are maintained throughout the season. For guests who want to explore the mountains by snowmobile, a snowmobile is also available to rent together with the cabin, provided the guest has the required licence, experience and knowledge.

The area is equally impressive during the snow-free season. There are almost endless opportunities for hiking, mountain adventures and fishing. The famous Jämtland Triangle, connecting Storulvån, Sylarna and Blåhammaren, is just a short distance away. Lake Ånnsjön and the well-known Enaforsen also offer excellent fishing.

The cabin is of a very high standard and has recently been fully renovated. It features an open and social floor plan together with a large outdoor terrace, perfect for relaxing, dining and spending long days outdoors.

The cabin is situated high on the slopes of Storsnasen, approximately 600 metres above sea level. This provides a bright and sunny position with fantastic views over Lake Ånnsjön, the valley and the surrounding mountains. The elevated location also means considerably fewer mosquitoes during the summer compared with lower areas in the valley.

One of the true highlights of the cabin is the newly built, spacious wood-fired outdoor sauna, complete with its own changing room and spectacular views over Lake Ånnsjön, the valley and the mountains. It is the perfect way to finish a day of skiing, snowmobiling, hiking or exploring the mountains. For additional comfort, there is also an electric sauna inside the cabin.

Here you can enjoy the peace and privacy of the mountains while still being within easy reach of restaurants, shops, services and everything the Åre and western Jämtland mountain region has to offer.
