The Swallows Nest - countryside barn conversion

Wellcome to the Swallows Nest, a barn conversion with high standard in the beautiful Öland countryside.

The Swallows Nest has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, sitting room and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside is a private garden with garden furniture and a barbecue. Sleeps five persons.

On the ground floor is kitchen and a large bathroom. Via a rather steep staircase you reach the first floor with living room and a bedroom with two beds. On the top level is the master bedroom with great views over the surrounding landscape and an on-suit bathroom. A fifth bed is in the living room.

On the back of the barn is a private outdoor space with views over the fields, garden furniture and a barbecue. Friendly grazing animals might visit the adjacent field. Through the fields it is about 1,5 km down to the sea with fine meadows and rich bird-life.

There are two bicycles for free use. Maps with suggested routs for cycling and walking is provided.

The Swallows Nest is situated in the north part of the island of Öland. It is contained in one end of a large barn adjacent to our farm. The location is nevertheless very secluded. It is fully equipped with TV, DVD, wifi, fridge-freezer, stove, microwave oven, coffee-maker, electric kettle, dishwasher and an outdoor barbecue.

Three of the island's best beaches are within 10 minuets drive from the house. There are nice cafés at Mellböda and Vidhem, both approximately 2,5 km away. In Böda, about 5 km to the north, there are a bakery and a grocery shop. In the close-by Böda harbour you find a pub, a restaurant and a fishmonger. A bit further away is the coastal village of Byxelkrok with several restaurants and cosy shopping in the harbour. A short distance to the south is a drop-in go-kart track.

The very special nature of Öland with beautiful grooves, vast heaths and sand forests is easy accessible, we are glad to recommend sites and walks. The island is also plentiful of ancient monuments, among others the best preserved Iron Age-villages in Europe.

The house is rented on a weekly basis (Saturday to Saturday). Check-in time is from 3 p.m. on the day of arrival and check-out time is 10 a.m. on the day of departure. Bed linen and towels can be provided at a small fee (150 SEK/person). Dogs or other animals are not allowed. The house should be cleaned before you leave. If you don't want to do that yourself, you can purchase our cleaning service for 900 SEK. This can be arranged at arrival.


During low season it is possible book short stays at 1600 SEK/night. Towels and bed linen are included, as well as cleaning.
