Unique summer villa by Kalmarsund on Öland

Within the natural beauty at the edge of the Kalmarsund and by the sea is the summerhouse Ekbacken situated, built in the 1920’s. The well-equipped house and its garden are in many ways unique, and have no equal in all of Öland. Placed at a high vantage point of the cape, one is given a great view of the Kalmarsund and the sunsets over the mainland landscape in the distance. The vast garden with its ancient oaks, is surrounded by a stone wall and it stretches all the way down to the beach with a boathouse and a jetty for swimming and sunbathing.
The house which has kept its original charm and atmosphere, is built in classical style and is two stories high. From the main entrance you enter a hall with guest toilet, a living room which consists of a couch set with a fireplace, a dining table able to seat 10 persons, and a minor alcove with armchairs fit for reading and enjoying music. Furthermore the ground floor has a kitchen entrance leading to a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, freezer, microwave oven, dishwashing machine etc.) and a pantry. Connecting to the kitchen area there is a bedroom with two beds and a bathroom with a shower.
On the second floor are four bedrooms of which three are double rooms and one is single. It also houses a bathroom with shower and a separate toilet. The master bedroom has a balcony facing the sea. All in all there are nine comfortable beds. Each bedroom has its own sink.
On the western and southern side of the house is a great chalkstone terrace. It has several groups of garden furniture and a Weber grill. In the nearby garden cottage there is a washroom with a washing machine and ironing equipment. The garden and its accompanying grounds is of such a scale that there are no other houses nearby. As such one enjoys privacy and tranquility without any outside disturbance. Ekbacken is located 4 km away from the bridge head of Ölandsbron. The closest village is Färjestaden with shops and other services, 5km to reach. In a distance of 15 km and on the mainland is Kalmar the closest city.
