The adventure begins as soon as you board Skåne’s only road ferry in the small mainland village of Barum to travel to Ivö. The ferry crossing itself takes around 6 minutes, is free of charge and runs 24 hours a day.
On arrival at the island, Ivö Camping is located right next to the ferry terminal. Here you’ll find access to various activities and services such as a kiosk/food stall, shop, restaurant/pub, entertainment, bathing spots, jetties, a playground, boules courts, mini-golf, boat and bike hire, and more.
Our cottage, including a 5,000 m² privately owned plot, is situated on the other side of the boundary to the campsite, approx. 100 m from the lake. From the plot, you can access a child-friendly bathing beach with jetties (and the rest of the campsite’s activities) via our own secret passageway through the campsite, down to the lakeside.
The cottage itself is painted red with white corners. Outside the entrance is a large covered terrace with a long table, the perfect spot to gather for meals throughout the day and for evening socialising.
Inside the cottage, there is a bedroom with a sofa bed sleeping two. There is also a walk-through room fitted with a clever bed cupboard containing a fold-down bed sleeping two.
Should further sleeping space be required, there are two mattresses available to lay on the floor, preferably in the living room.
In addition, there is a newly renovated kitchen, a living/family room with a fireplace, and a bathroom with a large shower. The cottage itself is small and cosy, measuring approx. 55 sqm.
As an addition to the cottage rental, there is also the option to hire our wonderful glamping tent, which is furnished with some seating for socialising. There are also a few inflatable mattresses available should you wish to stay overnight. This is an absolute favourite activity among the children, believe us!
On the 5,000 sqm plot, there is also space to rent for one or two motorhomes/caravans if, for example, you wish to holiday with friends or family. However, there is no access to water or electricity at these parking spaces.
Bed linen, small and large towels in the bathroom, and cleaning are not included but can be provided at an additional cost.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the standard kitchen essentials. There is no dishwasher, however.
Internet/Wi-Fi is available.
Given today’s volatile energy costs, electricity consumption will be invoiced separately. It is primarily the heating of water and the use of the hob/oven that affect this consumption. It is therefore up to each individual how much they wish to save or spend. The cost is calculated based on actual consumption per kWh during the stay.
NB! Rental costs are higher during Midsummer.

Other information:
Ivö is often referred to as a fairy-tale island with beautiful beech forests, a rich natural environment and an interesting history. One of the attractions is Ivö Klack, a fossil-rich hill in the northern part of the island, dating back an incredible 1.3 billion years. If you’re lucky, you can find fossils here that remind you of a time long ago, such as dinosaur skeletons and shark teeth.
Other exciting and interesting places to visit on the island include Biskopskällaren, the kaolin quarry and the cave-like formations at Ugnsmunnarna. On the mainland, Bäckaskog Castle and the Kjugekull nature reserve are nearby.
Kristianstad, Bromölla and Sölvesborg are about a 20-minute drive away and offer shopping, museums, cosy cafés, restaurants and more.
