The old guest house Engströms at Arholma island

The old guest house Engströms from last century is rented out with room for 14 people. The house has a total of 7 bedrooms, 1 well-equipped kitchen, living room, 2 bathrooms and a large glass veranda with a pergola outside. A mooring with a rowing boat is 1 km away. Bicycles and 4 sea kayaks are available for rent and a wood-fired sauna can be booked in Österhamn.
The house is located in the middle of the old village of Arholma, where the houses are close together and within walking distance to the restaurant and garden cafe in Österhamn. At the northern harbor there is a brew café and a well-stocked country store that is open daily during the summer.
Arholma is a well-visited island in summer with several cultural events as well as an old military battery on Arholma Nord with activities such as zipline and climbing wall for visitors. From Simpnäs on Väddö there is a daily pass boat several times/day that takes 15 minutes. The island is car-free and long-term parking is available in Simpnäs. Bus or boat transport from Stockholm is also available daily in summer.
Arholma is a living island with around 50 permanent residents and offers a mixture of cultural landscape and beautiful forests with cliffs and swimming beaches on the eastern side facing the Baltic Sea. A large part of the island is a nature reserve and is managed by the Archipelago Foundation.
Arholma is 4-5 km long and by bike it is easy to explore the island from north to south.
