This charming, picturesque house - VEMDALSSKALSGÅRDEN - with Skalets' most central location, midt i smørøyet as they say in Norway, has beds for 6 people.

Vemdalsskalsgården is without a doubt Vemdalsskalets' most photographed house! Once inspired by the Kyrkhultsstugan at Skansen.

Next door is another house - MELLAN-HÄRBRET - which has beds for 3 more people. If you rent both houses, you can be up to 9 people. It is also possible to rent just Vemdalsskalsgården.

The houses are located with ski in/out location for alpine skiing, touring and cross-country trails. In addition, next to SKALETS TORG with all its facilities: ski schools, childcare, ski rental, restaurants, bars, cafes, après ski, shops, gym, medical station and charging station for electric cars.

And during the summer next to ÄVENTYRSPARKEN (with climbing park and trail cycling).

You will not need the car during your entire stay.

Both cottages are picturesque, built of beautifully hand-hewn timber for the ultimate mountain feeling. Some windows are leaded. They have lavish interior details and are carefully decorated with things that we ourselves enjoy and that give a cozy mountain feeling with that little extra. The house once belonged to the founder of Vemdalsskalet and we have been keen to let the house retain its old charm with antiques but at the same time equip the house with modern kitchen equipment, comfortable beds and comfortable leather armchairs.

On the entrance floor of Vemdalsskalsgården there is a kitchen, the main house and the "master bedroom". The main house has a fireplace, cable TV with all the hotel's TV channels and a large dining table for good meals and cozy moments with board games. On the upper floor there are two separate bedrooms (with two beds in each. No bunk beds. All beds have box springs). There is also a desk there if you want to retreat and work remotely at your computer. Shower, toilet, sauna, drying cabinet are on the ground floor of the cottage.

The house has a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, AGA stove with two ovens, fan, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, waffle iron, electric whisk, washing machine with dryer.

The houses include sun terraces with delicious knotty outdoor furniture.

Vemdalsskalsgården's living area is approximately 90 square meters. And Mellan-härbrets' living area is approximately 30 square meters

No tenants under 30 years of age unless accompanied by their parents or equivalent.

As for VEMDALSKAL in general, it offers versatile skiing with substantial vertical drops (360 meters), an extensive trail system and fine trails in the mountains. The area's high altitude above sea level and its inland climate mean snow security and an early start to the season. Approximately 80 percent of the total surface area of the slopes is covered by modern and powerful snowmaking systems, which guarantees good quality throughout the winter. There are four 6-chair express lifts, 58 slopes and 35 lifts in the three ski areas Vemdalsskalet, Björnrike and Klövsjö/Storhogna. A total of two million square metres of piste area promises plenty of room to manoeuvre on the slopes. The longest slope at Vemdalsskalet is 1,956 metres. The off-piste terrain is on the north side of the Hovde mountain peak. Further down there are beautiful forest areas and even a ski jumping facility. In addition, there are exceptionally well-groomed cross-country skiing trails of various lengths and a number of pleasant touring trails.

The "proximity" with excellent direct bus connections makes Vemdalsskalet the ideal destination. The roads are good basically wherever you drive from. Distance to Stockholm: 480 km, Örebro: 450 km, Gothenburg: 670 km and Malmö: 900 km.

Summer activities: Fantastic expanses and beautiful nature Mountain hikes, Good food, Golf in the mountains, Fishing, Mountain horseback riding, Picking cloudberries, Watching and swimming in beautiful waterfalls, National parks nearby for an excursion, e.g. watching musk oxen etc.

Winter activities: Cross-country/downhill skiing, Vessel tour, Ice fishing, Dog sledding, visiting musk oxen, Mountain horseback riding in winterland.

The SKI pass (lift ticket) is valid in all three ski areas Vemdalsskalet, Björnrike and Storhogna/Klövsjö - You can get around the areas with the snow shuttle (Bus) - free with a 6-day lift ticket.

Equipment is available to rent for both summer and winter activities in Vemdalen.

IF YOU RENT VEMDALSSKALSGÅRDEN, YOU ARE RENTING DIRECTLY FROM THE LANDLORD, WHICH GIVES YOU AS A TENANT THE BEST OPPORTUNITIES FOR A WORRY-FREE RENTAL:

1) A simple deal with a clear agreement (booking confirmation) where all terms and conditions are stated.
2) A cheap deal where you don't get a 15% markup on the rental amount (an extra 12% that Stugknuten charges in agency fees and our service fee of 3%).
3) You immediately find out all of the landlord's contact information.
4) You pay a registration fee of a maximum of 20% of the rent when booking.
5) You pay the remaining amount one month before the rental.
6) You don't have to pay the full rental amount until one month before you move in.
7) This makes your holiday accommodation - without intermediaries - safer, more secure and cheaper.

2 weeks = 5% discount on the entire amount

STUGKNUTEN'S S-MARKING
If you want to rent via Stugknuten and thus use Stugknuten's so-called S-marking, that's also fine. In that case, you pay 15% more in rent. Stugknuten's S-marking means that you pay - the entire rent plus the agency fee Stugknuten charges the landlord (12%) and our own service fee (3%) - directly (by card) to Stugknuten when you book, but the rent is not paid to us until you have checked out.
