The Sportsman’s Cabin offers a simple, warm and cosy retreat in the heart of Fageråsen Trysil: scenic views over the mountain, wood burning stove, direct access to cross-country skiing and hiking paths and downhill skiing in a very close distance (skibus). It balances outdoor activities with rest and retreat.
A large terrace is fronting the mountain and the garden and the surrounding area provides a lot of fun etc builing snow caves, sledding etc.
Practical information about the cabin
-3 separate bedrooms
-a large living-room with a Wood burning stove, a dining table and chairs, a sofa plus three comfortable armchairs.

-a fully equipped kitchen
-a bathroom
-tv and wi-fi
-boardgames
Everything is close and within a walking distance in Fageråsen Trysil. Direct access to cross-country skiing, 80 m to the skibus which takes you to the downhill area in a couple of minutes. You can also ski-out to the nearest slope by the cross-country ski tracks and ski-in plus walk 8 minutes back home. It takes 20 minutes to walk to the downhill area center with a grocery store, several restaurants, a ski-rental and a spa hotel with outdoor and indoor pools, various saunas, massage etc
More practical information
-the cabin is rented on a weekly basis sunday-sunday, you have acces from 2 PM arrival date until 1 PM departure date
-self catering accomodation, eg you bring your own sheets, towels, food, Wood etc
- the tenant is responsible for cleaning the cabin before the departure
-the tenant must be 26 years old or older
-smoking is not allowed
-pets are not allowed
-there are direct buses from the AirPort Sälen Trysil to Fageråsen Trysil
-Fageråsen Trysil is situated appoximately a 45 minutes drive to the nearby Sälen ski area
In Trysil there is a firm that rents and delivers the number sheets and towels necessary for your stay for a relatively modest sum. They can also provide Wood for the stove. We can give you the firm’s name and contract information.
Between December and March there are possibilites of seeing the Aurora. There are also possibilites of great adventures such as personalized hiking and nature adventures with an experienced guide and dog sledding. Please ask for contact information for booking such extra activities for your stay. Skistar has ski-rental, ski-guides and ski-School at the Fageråsen downhill center, a twenty minutes walk from the cabin.
