Quiet cottage on a turn-of-the-century farm

Welcome to a traditional Öland farm dating back to the 18th century, where life moves at its own peaceful pace. The atmosphere feels like it’s straight out of the 1960s, while the kitchen and toilet are newly renovated and fresh. This classic courtyard farm, built around the turn of the century, is located in the small, private village of Ormöga – a settlement of just five farms, offering total privacy and kilometer-wide views over open fields near the sea. During summer, horses and foals often graze in the adjacent paddocks.

We offer a charming, self-contained 38 sqm cottage featuring a bedroom, living room, and a kitchenette. The cottage has a private south-facing terrace with its own small garden and a lush bower – perfect for long breakfasts, a book in the shade, or a glass of wine as the sun sets over the fields. The farm is located on the eastern side of the island, which makes everything much more peaceful. Both the kitchen and toilet are newly renovated.

The Surroundings
From the farm, it is a 10–15 minute bike ride to beautiful beaches (bicycles available subject to availability). In about 30 minutes, you can reach Köpingsvik with its sandy beaches, restaurants, shops, minigolf, and homemade ice cream. A bike ride of just under an hour takes you to Borgholm with its castle ruin and vibrant summer life.

Nearby attractions include the quaint candy factory (Karamellkokeriet), Kapelludden with its lighthouse, and first-class birdwatching in the open areas, featuring species such as the beautiful Montagu's harrier and White-tailed eagle. Here in central Öland, you are met by a landscape of vast fields, ancient stone walls, and a horizon that never ends.
