Simple summer accommodation in Östergötland

Enjoy a peaceful, quiet stay close to nature, far removed from traffic and noise. The accommodation comprises four rooms and a kitchen on the upper floor of a charming, historic house containing three apartments. The house is situated on a traditional 18th-century farm—formerly a horse-breeding estate—southwest of Linköping.
A toilet and shower are located on the ground floor.
Sleeping arrangements include a double bed in the larger bedroom and two smaller rooms with sloping ceilings and single beds (approximately 10 m² each).
Additional sleeping space is available via the sofa bed in the living room, which also features a TV.
There is a large, spacious, old-fashioned kitchen with a functional cast-iron stove and plenty of room around the large dining table.

In addition to basic kitchen equipment, the kitchen includes:
- fridge and freezer, stove with ceramic cooktop and fan-assisted oven
- coffee percolator
- toaster
- kettle

Included:
- duvet and pillows (please bring your own bed linen and towels)
- TV with Swedish channels
- garden furniture
- barbecue

- Guests are responsible for the final cleaning, though you also have the option to purchase this service for an additional fee.

The farm is an active agricultural holding, with grazing cows in nearby pastures. The house is surrounded by forest and meadows; depending on the season, the beautiful surroundings offer opportunities to pick blueberries, wild raspberries, and mushrooms. You have a good chance of spotting red deer, roe deer, and moose, as well as hearing the calls of cranes and whooper swans.

A site of national interest—featuring 14th-century ruins—is located by Lake Kilarpssjön. You can also buy a fishing permit for the lake and perhaps hook a perch or a pike.


Nearby attractions and beautiful excursion spots include the area surrounding Lake Vättern, featuring the authentic, historic architecture of Gränna and Hästholmen. From Gränna, you can take a boat across to Visingsö and enjoy a ride in a traditional horse-drawn carriage. At Omberg, you can walk through the beautiful beech forest—home to unique flora—and take in the sweeping views from the Hjässan summit; on clear days, you can see as far as Västergötland. At the foot of Omberg, you can also visit Strand, the famous home of Ellen Key. Nearby lies Lake Tåkern, a haven for birdlife, featuring a visitor center (*Naturum*) and a bird watching tower at Glänås.

If you are interested in historic settings, the nearby towns of Vadstena and Skänninge offer picturesque alternatives. Vadstena is also world-renowned for its summer opera performances held in the medieval castle, as well as Shakespeare productions at the "Shakespeare Factory" (*Shakespearefabriken*).

Old Linköping offers attractions for all ages, including the recently renovated and updated Fenomenmagasinet science center.
On rainy days, a visit to the recently reopened Air Force Museum in Malmslätt makes for an exciting outing. Kolmården Wildlife Park is another great destination for a full-day trip.
