Dreaming of a relaxing holiday surrounded by beautiful nature and peaceful lake views? Welcome to a unique and charming cottage on your very own island in Lake Hummeln, a beautiful meteorite impact crater lake near Oskarshamn, Sweden.

Here, you can enjoy the peace, privacy and freedom of staying on your own island. The perfect place to relax, unwind, swim, fish and experience nature.

ACCOMMODATION

The main cottage consists of two rooms and a kitchen, featuring a cosy open fireplace and stunning views of the lake.

The main cottage has two bunk beds and a sofa bed. There is also a separate guest cabin with a double bed on the property.

Duvets and pillows are provided. Guests must bring their own bed linen and bath towels.

The property accommodates a maximum of 2 guests.

OUTDOOR AREA AND FACILITIES

Enjoy sunny days on the private jetty, take a refreshing swim in the lake or relax on the sun loungers while admiring the beautiful surroundings.

Facilities on the island include:
- Private jetty with swimming ladder and sun loungers
- Gas barbecue, charcoal barbecue and Muurikka outdoor cooking pan
- Outdoor shower with hot water
- Seasonal running water
- Pacto toilet
- Solar-powered electricity with battery storage
- Gas stove and gas refrigerator

The cottage offers a peaceful, nature-oriented experience with simple facilities, ideal for guests looking to escape everyday life.

FISHING AND BOATING

Lake Hummeln offers excellent fishing opportunities and is particularly well known for zander (pike-perch), perch and northern pike.

A boat is included in the rental, allowing you to explore the lake and enjoy the fishing.

The rental also includes 10 litres of boat fuel. If additional fuel is needed, it can be purchased from the host at cost price.

Fishing permits must be purchased separately and are easily available online at .

As the cottage is located on an island, guests must have some previous boating experience and feel comfortable operating a boat. The boat is located at a boathouse on the mainland, approximately 5 minutes by boat from the island.

ARRIVAL AND DIRECTIONS

After your booking has been confirmed, the host will provide directions to the boathouse.

Upon arrival, the host will meet you at the boathouse and accompany you to the island in their own boat. Once on the island, the host will show you around the cottage, explain how the boat and equipment work, and provide all the necessary information for your stay.

PETS

Pets are welcome but are not allowed on beds or sofas.

House rules:
- Smoking is not permitted.
- Parties and events are not allowed.
- Commercial photography is not permitted.
- The cottage must be left clean and tidy.

Before check-out:
- Clean the cottage thoroughly.
- Dispose of rubbish at the location designated by the host.
- Turn off electrical appliances and gas supplies.
- Lock the cottage and return the keys to the host or leave them at the agreed location.

If the cottage is not left properly cleaned, a cleaning fee of SEK 1,000 will be charged.

Wir hatten eine wundervolle und unvergessliche Zeit auf dieser kleinen Insel! Die Lage mitten im See ist einfach einzigartig – absolute Ruhe, schöne Natur und das besondere Gefühl, die Insel ganz für sich zu haben. Morgens direkt am Wasser aufzuwachen, vom eigenen Steg ins Wasser zu springen, mit dem Boot über den See zu fahren und abends am Feuer zu sitzen, war für uns und unsere Kinder ein echtes Abenteuer. Das Haus ist rustikal, gemütlich und hat alles, was man für dieses besondere Inselleben braucht. Boot, Kanu, Hot Tub und der eigene Steg haben unsere Zeit perfekt gemacht. Ein riesiges Dankeschön an Johan! Er ist ein so herzlicher Gastgeber und hat sich wunderbar um uns gekümmert. Frisches Trinkwasser wurde für uns bereitgestellt und bei jeder Frage oder wenn wir Hilfe brauchten, war Johan sofort zur Stelle – immer herzlich und unkompliziert. Wir haben uns rundum willkommen gefühlt. Ein besonderer Ort, an den wir lange zurückdenken werden. Danke für diese wunderschöne Zeit! ❤️

Vi var tre barn och två vuxna som hyrde stugan en vecka nu sommaren 2026. Stugan ligger som enda bostad på en ö i sjön Hummeln. Läget är svårslaget med en underbar utsikt över sjön, egen brygga och tillhörande båt med utombordare. Då två av barnen är väldigt fiskeintresserade nyttjades båten flitigt men det gick utmärkt att fiska även från bryggan. Badtunna, grill och muurikka gjorde vistelsen ännu mysigare. En veckas sol, bad och fiske med grillkvällar och vedeldad badtunna var verkligen supermysigt. Johan gick även att boka som fiskeguide vilket gjorde att vi fick koll på var man borde fiska i sjön och han var sedan mycket mån om att vi skulle ha det bra, lätt att få tag på om det behövdes och han fixade direkt om något behövde åtgärdas. Vi kan varmt rekommendera detta boende och återkommer gärna nästa sommar igen.

This place is an absolute paradise! You have the whole island to yourselves, with no close neighbours. The cottage has a huge terrace and a dock with many cosy spots to relax. The big lake is beautiful with clear water, and you can fish directly from the dock. You reach the house by boat (approx. 7 minutes). You can also use the canoe to explore the various nearby islands. There's also a hot tub and a fireplace for colder weather. Johan is a very helpful and easily reachable host who makes everything possible for a great stay. He thinks of everything (e.g., plenty of drinking water in the house) and has made the island a perfect place. Tack så mycket, Johan! Oskarshamn is the biggest nearby town, approx. 25 minutes by car, with a couple of good restaurants. Kristdala (5 minutes) also has a grocery store. Overall, we stayed 8 nights and could easily have spent much longer on this perfect island - highly recommended for anyone who dreams of a quiet house right on the lake.
