Idyllic living in Hjulbäck, Dalarna

Welcome to a charming and well-equipped holiday home in Hjulbäck, just outside Leksand, in the heart of Dalarna.
Here you stay in a peaceful, nature-rich setting close to Lake Siljan, swimming areas, fishing waters, golf courses, excursion destinations and genuine Dalecarlian culture.

The property consists of two buildings. The “main cottage” (approx. 34 sqm) features a sleeping alcove separated from the kitchen by a curtain (two single beds), a living room, a well-equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with shower and toilet.
The “sleeping cottage” (approx. 26 sqm) has two bedrooms (one double bed and one bunk bed) and space for clothes/luggage. Please note: there is no toilet in the sleeping cottage.
There is also a traditional härbre (storage house) on the property, which is not included in the rental.

In addition to a large grassy garden, there is an outdoor seating area with table and chairs suitable for dining. On the covered veranda there is a sofa, two armchairs and a table. Sun loungers and a charcoal barbecue are also available.

If you wish to swim in Lake Siljan, it is about a 700-metre walk to a sandy beach with a jetty suitable for younger children. At the far end of the jetty there is a trampoline and access to deeper water for swimming.

The area around Hjulbäck offers beautiful scenery, pleasant walking and cycling paths, and close proximity to the shores of Lake Siljan. For outdoor enthusiasts there are excellent fishing opportunities in Siljan and nearby lakes. For golfers, several golf courses are located nearby, including in Leksand, Rättvik and Mora, all within 30–60 minutes by car.

A short drive takes you to Leksand, with shops, restaurants, summer activities, events and attractions such as Hildasholm and Leksand Church. For children (and adults young at heart), Leksand Sommarland is about 20 minutes away by car. Tomteland is also nearby, approximately 30 minutes away by car. The cottage is rented out from May to September and is ideal for those who want to experience a classic Dalecarlian summer with peace, nature, and proximity to both activities and relaxation.

- Bed linen and towels are not provided and must be brought by guests
