Villa Skalsvallen is a tasteful log lodge beyond the ordinary that offers luxurious charm, unique details, excellent comfort and the best location in the Vemdalsskalet area at the popular Skalets torg, where everyone wants to live.
Large windows frame the beautiful mountain landscape but magnificent views of the ski slopes and blue mountains. The windows also make nature an integral part of the indoor environment.
The villa - with an appealing style both exterior and interior - is designed in tasteful mountain architecture with hand-hewn timber for the ultimate mountain feeling. The log walls – which give a warm, cozy and exclusive feeling – have the same irregular shape that you see in old log cabins with the tree's natural tapering from top to root.
The villa consists of two apartments, you can rent one or both. The apartments have access to each other through a staircase but can also be used completely separately, see drawings in the photo collage. So you don't have to go outside to get between the apartments.
The villa – with a well-thought-out floor plan and lavish material choices – has a total of 4 equipped kitchens, 4 dining rooms, 4 living rooms each with a large wood-burning stove, 6 master bedrooms (with 180-bed beds), 6 bedrooms with handmade bunk beds (90/90 and 90/120), relaxation areas. The indoor table tennis hall sets the tone.
The apartments have lovely common areas but also have areas where you can retreat. The beautiful kitchens have stylish white cabinet doors and each kitchen is fully equipped with all conceivable appliances and kitchen equipment.
The open plan between the kitchens, dining rooms and living rooms creates a place for different families to relax but also for families to spend time together. After a day on the ski slopes or ski trails, you can relax in one of the sofa groups in front of the wood-burning stoves or play ping-pong. If you want to watch different TV programs, there are 2 TVs in each apartment.
The villa is perfect for groups or larger parties who want comfortable, central, luxurious accommodation with ski in/out access for alpine skiing, touring and cross-country trails, immediate proximity to the children's slope area, ski schools, babysitting, ski rental, grocery store, gift shop, clothing stores, gym, medical station and charging station for electric cars.
The villa is ideal for conference accommodation with conference activities as it is located close to everything that Vemdalsskalet has to offer, such as the high-mountain hotel's conference facilities, restaurants, bars, cafés, après ski and catering companies through which you can have food delivered directly to the villa. We collaborate with a company that arranges conferences. Those who rent the house for a conference can therefore get a complete concept and do not have to take care of anything themselves.
Those who live in Villa Skalsvallen will not need their car during their entire stay.
• The apartments are preferably rented out to families weekly (7 nights), from Sunday to Sunday (but we can be flexible).
• Conference guests are welcome to rent part of the week.
• No tenants under 30 years of age unless accompanied by their parents or equivalent.
Bed linen, departure cleaning and an extra 20-person sauna are not included but can be booked.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE AREA
As for VEMDALSKALET in general, it offers versatile skiing with substantial vertical drops (360 meters), an extensive trail system and fine mountain trails. The area's high altitude and inland climate means snow security and an early start to the season. Around 80 percent of the total surface area of the slopes is covered by modern and powerful snowmaking systems, which guarantees good quality throughout the winter. There are four 6-chair express lifts, 58 slopes and 35 lifts in the three ski areas of Vemdalsskalet, Björnrike and Klövsjö/Storhogna. A total of two million square metres of piste area promise plenty of room to manoeuvre on the slopes. The longest slope at Vemdalsskalet is 1,956 metres. The off-piste terrain is on the north side of the Hovde mountain peak. Further down there are beautiful forest areas and even a ski jumping facility. In addition, there are exceptionally well-groomed cross-country skiing trails of various lengths and a number of pleasant touring trails.
The "proximity" with excellent direct bus connections makes Vemdalsskalet the ideal destination. The roads are good basically wherever you drive from. Distance to Stockholm: 480 km, Örebro: 450 km, Gothenburg: 670 km and Malmö: 900 km.
Winter activities: Cross-country/downhill skiing, boat trips, dog sledding, mountain riding in winterland, good food at one of the restaurants at Skalets torg, shopping.
The SKI pass (lift pass) is valid in all three ski areas Vemdalsskalet, Björnrike and Storhogna/Klövsjö - You can get around the areas with the snow shuttle (Bus) - free with a 6-day lift pass.
Summer activities: ADVENTURE PARK (with climbing park and trail cycling), fantastic expanses, beautiful nature mountain hikes, good food at one of the restaurants at Skalets torg, golf in the mountains, fishing, mountain riding, picking cloudberries, watching and swimming in beautiful waterfalls, Sonfjället National Park.
Equipment is available for rent for both summer and winter activities in Vemdalen.
GOOD TO KNOW
The villa is a self-catering cottage, which means that guests bring their own/buy consumables such as toilet paper, spices, oil, baking paper, etc. It would be nice if there was some detergent for machine and hand washing, toilet paper and kitchen paper, garbage bags, new dishcloths available upon check-out. Please be careful with shoveling at the entrance at the back and at the entrance to the ski room.
Firewood: not included (but can be purchased at ICA across the road).
Electric car: There is no electric car charging at Villa Skalsvallen and it is not allowed to charge from a regular power outlet. However, there is an electric car charging station right across the highway, west of ICA.
Dogs: are welcome at Villa Skalsvallen, however, no animals are allowed in furniture and beds, but must stay on the floors. Food bowls for the animals are brought by the owner and mistress, who also clean up after their pets a little extra carefully. Resting is not allowed on the property.
Smoking: is not allowed in Villa Skalsvallen or on the property.

If cleaning is not booked, the guest cleans himself before departure. In case of unapproved cleaning, the guest will be charged. Cleaning products for cleaning are available.
IF YOU RENT "VILLA SKALSVALLEN" YOU ARE RENTING DIRECTLY FROM THE LANDLORD, WHICH GIVES YOU AS A TENANT THE BEST OPPORTUNITIES FOR A WORRY-FREE RENTAL:
1) A simple deal with a clear agreement (booking confirmation) where all terms and conditions are stated.
2) A cheap deal where you do not receive a 15% surcharge on the rental amount (an extra 12% that Stugknuten charges in agency fees and our service fee of 3%).
3) You will immediately find out all of the landlord's contact information.
4) You pay a registration fee of a maximum of 20% of the rent when booking.
5) You pay the remaining amount one month before the rental.
6) You do not have to pay the full rental amount until one month before you move in.
7) This makes your holiday accommodation - without intermediaries - safer, more secure and cheaper.
STUGKNUTEN'S S-MARKING
If you want to rent via Stugknuten and thus use Stugknuten's so-called S-marking, that's also fine. In that case, you pay 15% more in rent. Stugknuten's S-marking means that you pay - the entire rent plus the agency fee Stugknuten charges the landlord (12%) and our own service fee (3%) - directly (by card) to Stugknuten when you book, but the rent is not paid to us until you have checked out.
