Villa Ilstad
A beautiful, large yellow house in Jäckvik, Sweden, near the grocery store "Jäckvik Liv's" and the lake "Hornavan." The house consists of two separate apartments. The one for rent is on the second floor, newly renovated, and spacious enough for up to 7 guests. Access is through the ground floor via an internal staircase leading to the apartment.

The apartment has two large bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed, and one large bedroom with a queen-size bed and a single bed. A large bathroom with a shower and a washing machine is located near the bedrooms. In addition to a spacious living room and kitchen area, there is also a small balcony with a view of the lake — ideal for morning coffee.

On the southeast side of the property, there is a terrace where you can enjoy the sun while grilling. Several garden furniture pieces are available in the storage shed. The apartment has central heating, keeping it warm and cozy at all times. We also have our own caretaker on-site to handle any issues that may arise, ensuring a comfortable stay.

We do not live in the house ourselves and are only occasionally present on the ground floor, mostly on weekends, so there's a high chance you’ll have the place to yourself.

About the area:
Jäckvik is a small mountain village in Arjeplog Municipality along Road 95 (The Silver Road). The area stretches from 220 to 283 km and is known for its beautiful landscape and year-round activities. In winter, there are trails for both snowmobiles and cross-country skiing, as well as a downhill slope. Ice fishing is possible on the frozen lake.

In autumn, you have excellent opportunities to pick mushrooms and berries in the surrounding forest. Lake Hornavan, near the house, is Sweden’s deepest lake at 221 meters. You are welcome to use our rowboat, which fits up to six people, free of charge. Life jackets are available for both adults and children. An ice auger for winter fishing is also provided.

Besides Hornavan, there are many lakes around Jäckvik with great fishing opportunities. Nearby is also Pieljekaise National Park. The well-known hiking trail "Kungsleden" passes through Jäckvik and is clearly marked within the national park.

In other words, there are plenty of activities and opportunities in the surrounding area.
You can find more information about the area and fishing permits at the supermarket, which is just 150 meters from the house.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire upper floor. There is also a sauna on the property available for guest use.
