Experience peace and nature in our charming cottage with beautiful views of Lake Stora Hornsjön

This idyllic cottage, surrounded by forest and just a few minutes from the lake (approx. 200 m), is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. We rent the cottage on a weekly basis, and it is particularly well suited for couples and families looking for a peaceful holiday together, with accommodation for up to 6 guests

The 69 sqm main cottage has two bedrooms – one with a double bed and one with a bunk bed – as well as a newly renovated bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious living room with a large sofa and TV for cosy evenings indoors. The large terrace with seating and a barbecue is perfect for long dinners and relaxing moments surrounded by birdsong and the peaceful sounds of the forest.

There is also a cosy 23 sqm guest house on the property, complete with a sleeping loft, sofa bed, bathroom, its own kitchen and outdoor seating area – ideal for anyone who appreciates a little extra privacy. The garden has a greenhouse, vegetable beds and plenty of space to wander around or simply sit down with a good book.

Amenities
For your convenience, the cabin offers self-check-in via code locks on both houses and a 22 kW charging station for electric vehicles (at an additional fee), making it easy for EV owners to charge directly on-site. Just a short walk away lies Stora Hornsjön, a clear and beautiful lake with a shallow, sandy bottom—perfect for families with children and ideal for swimming, fishing, or relaxing by the shore. A 4.25m Ryds boat with 4hp motor and oars is also available to rent for a fee during your stay.

Activities and Nearby Attractions
Directly outside your door are several forest trails that offer beautiful nature experiences year-round. The area is perfect for outdoor activities like birdwatching, mushroom foraging, and berry picking in late summer. The cabin is only a 40-minute drive from both Gothenburg and Ullared, providing easy access to city excursions or shopping at the famous Gekås department store.

A wonderful house with a large terrace and gorgeous view. The nearby lake and small beach are perfect for swimming and relaxing, just a short walk from the house. The surroundings are beautiful, and the location is ideal for discovering many fun attractions and excursions. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at Mathias' holiday house and can highly recommend it. We especially loved the beautiful nature and the short walk to the lake. The large terrace is perfect for relaxing, with a hanging chair and a hammock. There is also a nice lawn in the garden where you can sit, play or enjoy the quiet surroundings. The boat gave us many great hours on the lake. The beach area has a shallow, sandy entrance into the water, which is perfect for small children. Communication with Mathias was excellent. He always replied very quickly, was very helpful and gave us clear answers and useful advice whenever we had a question. We also enjoyed the two living houses, which gave us plenty of space. Together with the fantastic weather, we had a really great holiday. Thank you very much, Mathias, for your hospitality. We would be happy to come back and highly recommend both the holiday house and you as a host.

We had a fantastic time in this beautiful and very comfortable holiday home. It really had everything we needed. The surrounding countryside is lovely and perfect for great walks. We had a very nice summer holiday on this wonderful location. It has a beautiful, scenic garden overlooking the hillside and lake. Also a great place for kids, who can play on the small beaches at the lakeside. The house was situated on a private location. It was very complete and clean, including a great kitchen, and bbq facilities outside. Very nice host family, who came to meet us upon our arrival. We had a great time exploring the lake with the motorboat . Surroundings are also nice for hiking.

Barbecue – Grilling Facilities For enjoyable evenings at the cabin, guests have access to both a kettle grill and a larger barbecue grill. The kettle grill is perfect for smaller meals and quick grilling, while the larger barbecue grill offers extra capacity for bigger groups and extended grilling sessions. Grill utensils are available for a convenient and enjoyable outdoor cooking experience.
Broadband – Internet Access The cabin has internet access, and despite its secluded location in the woods, the speed is usually sufficient for streaming. The connection works well for checking emails, browsing, and streaming most of the time, though it may occasionally slow down due to weather conditions or network congestion. Ideal for a relaxing stay where you can stay connected as needed, with a pace in tune with nature.
Hond toegestaan – Well-behaved small dogs are welcome in the cottage (maximum 1–2 dogs per booking). Due to past experiences where pets caused significant wear and tear, we now apply some restrictions. Depending on your dog’s size, shedding, and cleaning needs, an additional cleaning fee may apply. This helps us maintain a high standard for future guests, including those with allergies.
Laadstation voor elektrische auto – EV Charging – Electric & Hybrid Vehicles We offer a charging station at the cottage for guests with electric vehicles. For fully electric cars, we charge a flat fee of 1,000 SEK per week, which covers all electricity used during your stay — there’s no need to track individual kWh consumption. For plug-in hybrids, we apply a reduced flat fee of 200 SEK per week, as these vehicles typically have much smaller battery capacities. Please let us know in advance if you plan to use the charging station, and we will include the fee in your booking
