Vällentorpet - guesthouse on Söderlund

Welcome to our guesthouse Vällentorpet on Söderlund farm situated 50 m from lake Vällen near the Norwegian borderline.

Old cottage with basic standard. Use of rowing boat and canoe included.

The lake has connection to lake Utgård in Norway via a little river.

The little house was earlier situated at the outflow of lake Vällen, and served as blacksmith workshop. Here young Lars Magnus Ericsson worked as apprentice before getting famous with his telephones.

-Fireplace room (14 sqm): x2 couches which both can be used as sleeping couches, fire place and German satellite TV
-Kitchen (14 sqm): oven, stove, micro, fridge, and table for 6 persons.
-Entrance hall (6 sqm)
-Sleeping room (13 sqm) x2 bunk beds (200 x80 cm)
-Bath (7 kvm ) WC, shower, washing machine

Excellent possibilities for outdoor activities in nearby lake and forest.

Finskogsleden () is famous hiking path leading through village Håvilsrud.

As well one of Swedens largest shopping center in nearby Charlottenberg (16 km).


How to find guesthouse Vällentorpet (Lilla Söderlund)

Directions :
1.) When coming from Göteborg/ South you will drive North on Road E45. From Säffle you take Road 175 straight to Arvika (without passing through Karlstad).

2.) When coming from Karlstad follow road 61 to Arvika.

Then follow road 61 from Arvika in direction to Charlottenberg. Pass straight through the shopping center roundabout heading in direction to Norway.
After about 4,5 km turn RIGHT at ¨Håvilsrud 15 km” sign.

3.) When coming from Norway you are driving on Norwegian Road 2 (basically same road as Swedish Road 61) from Kongsvinger in direction of Charlottenberg. Turn LEFT about 500 m after crossing borderline at ¨Håvilsrud 15 km” sign.

From road 61 it will take you about 10 minutes to come to Vällentorpet on Söderlund farm in Håvilsrud.

Cross railway and follow main road straight in direction to Norway. Travel about 12 km through forest until arriving in little village Häljeboda at little lake Vällen.

Continue over little stone bridge and turn then LEFT near lake (towards Norway).

Continue about 1 km, pass the white "Folkets hus" and the road to Bortan on the right,
after 350 m you see on the LEFT the blue mail box.

Swing LEFT to Söderlund farm, and take immediately the RIGHT upphill road next to the old barn.

Vällentorpet guesthouse is situated next to the white main house of Söderlund.

Guests are responsible for nicely cleaning according instructions in cottage.
