Gärdsholmen is one island of about 5000 in the Tjust archipelago,
Västervik. It is situated in a long narrow fjord-like bay of the Baltic Sea in an area that invites both experienced anglers and families to rich and varying fishing. The Baltic Sea is only 100 meters away. A rowboat is included in the rent. A motor or more boats can be rented. Beach 100 m.
Already 5000 years ago Gärdsholmen was used by man for hunting and fishing which is proved by artefacts and ceramics that was found on the island.
Here you can stay, like man has done for thousands of years, with the sea as your closest neighbour. The cottage has seaview.
How to find your way:
Drive north on E22. After you passed Västervik, Gamleby and Restaurang Tindered turn right against Helgenäs. After 1 km, turn right over a small bridge, against Sundby. Drive about 6 km, passing Troserum and after 2 km more, turn right against Loftahammar. After 1 km turn right following the small road to Söderskogen/Syrsagården/Gärdsholmen. Follow the signs Gärdsholmen/Mörkviks Brygga.
When you see a small parkingplace on your left and the sea and some bridges on the right you have find your way.
