Vaxholm city - the capital of the Stockholm archipelago - is 1.5 km away with shops, restaurants, its
history and famous fortress.
Vaxholm is also a transportation hub from which you have multiple options to get around. You can
either travel out into the archipelago with any of the ferry lines or take a boat trip into the
centre of Stockholm - a nice one hour trip. There is also plenty of public bus transportations from Vaxholm that can take you to Stockholm in approx 40 min.
No one really know when Skarpö was first settled upon. However, in 1903 after several hundreds of years of fishing, agricultural and maritime living - Skarpö goes through a major transformation. Stockholms citizens starts to exploit the island and transforms it to summer residences with a typical and unique architecture. The island was split into 207 plots, and this particular house was built 1910.
The majority of the houses on Skarpö are listed and hence the island have kept its unique style and atmosphere
Car ferry from Vaxholm towards Rindö. On Rindö - turn immediately to your left towards Skarpö. The house is situated on the right side after approx 1.5 km from the ferry.
The ferry runs 24/7 and at least every half hour. During weekends it runs every 15 min and during morning and afternoon rush traffic it runs every 10 min. The trip takes approx 5 min.
