In the middle of the island, in Gotland's most fertile area, lies Dalhem with its stately medieval church. Here you have a convenient driving distance to both coasts and will find, among other things, the island's only railway station, a nice sports ground, and a pleasant hiking trail around Dalhemsån.
Here you can rent a limestone house in classic Gotland style with two bedrooms and an additional nook/bedroom where two can sleep. On the property there is also a smaller "guest house" with one bedroom for two, its own bathroom, and a small kitchen with a fridge and cooking facilities.
Bed linens and towels are not provided. Cleaning can be purchased for an additional 2000 kr.
Days available for rental:
- August 15–30: 1200 kronor per night (minimum 5 nights)
- To rent later in the year, please send an inquiry (minimum 5 nights)
The house is located in a neighborhood with year-round resident neighbors (in two directions) with whom we have a good relationship and appreciate very much. Anyone under 25, or anyone looking for a place to party, is therefore asked to look elsewhere for other options.
More info:
The kitchen and bathroom in the main house are newly renovated. Otherwise, the houses are intact and clean and everything works as it should, though it's high time to fix up the remaining rooms. We're working on this, so it's quite possible you may have to put up with a half-painted wall or similar somewhere.
Sleeping spots: 6 in the main house, but 2 of these are in a "nook" (a loft/crawl space) that is only accessible by passing through one of the bedrooms, plus 2 in the small house. Total of 8, then.
Gotland's landscape and road network are fantastic, so take the chance to try different routes to, for example, Visby — but the fastest route by car is:
Roma (nearest town with shops) – about 10 minutes
- Visby – about 20 minutes (25 minutes to the ferry)
- Slite – about 30 minutes
- Ljugarn – about 30 minutes
- Klintehamn – just over 30 minutes
- Fårösund – about 50 minutes
- Katthammarsvik – about 25 minutes
- Hesselby Railway Café – max 2 minutes (about 10 minutes on foot)
- Dalhem sports ground – max 2 minutes (about 10 minutes on foot)-
Bus line 41 between Visby and Katthammarsvik (and vice versa, of course) passes right outside the house
