Close to the sea on Orust in Bohuslän

Two-floor house of 60 sqm + guesthouse. 3 beds in the main house, and another 3 beds in the guesthouse. The guesthouse has its own WC.

You can see the sea from almost every window. It's a 10-minute walk to a jetty with a ladder and a beach with crystal clear water with lots of oysters and shells, and a 5-minute walk to a shallow beach. Large plot (partially fenced) with apple trees and blackberry bushes. The road outside the house is quiet: it has a speed limit of 40 km/h, with sparse traffic because it is a dead end road, leading to a cape with villas a few kilometers away from our small area.

The house was built in 1941 and many original details are preserved. On the first floor there is a fully equipped kitchen (the kitchen table has space for 4 people but can be extended to accommodate more), a living room, a glazed veranda, a small terrace and a bathroom with WC, shower and washing machine. On the upper floor you'll fins the bedrooms with space for 3 people: a double bed of 160 cm and a single bed of 105 cm. The beds are in separate rooms but you need to walk past the single bed to get to the room with the double bed. Currently there is no door between the rooms (this may change in the spring).

Guest house (with a larger terrace) with space for 3 people. Two bedrooms with separate entrances (no door between the rooms yet, but this may also change during this spring), where the larger room has a double bed and the smaller room a single bed (90 cm). Bathroom with WC and sink.

We welcome guests with dogs (we have a dog ourselves), but dogs are not allowed directly on the sofa: we ask you to put out a towel or blanket. The same goes for the beds. Unfortunately, we do not accept guests with cats due to allergy.

The house is not suitable for small children, and we therefore welcome guests with children who are at least 7 years old.

Other things you might want to know: no TV but great wi-fi. You'll reach Orust by car (no need to go on a ferry, if you don't want to). You clean the house, throw out the trash, and recycle (in Svanesund) at the end of your stay.

Surroundings: The house is surrounded by a few houses, cow pastures and the sea. It's a rural and peaceful location. The larger community Svanesund is 4 km away by car. There you'll find a grocery store and a large beach with a diving tower and several jetties. (There is a shortcut through the forest if you want to walk and then it is 2.5 km.) Henån is 20 minutes away by car, with services such as a pharmacy, a really good fish/seafood market, a liquor store, and a bookstore. 20 minutes in the other direction you'll find Almö Livs at Tjörn, with a large grocery store and pharmacy. On both Orust and Tjörn there are lots of amazing places to visit, such as swimming areas, flea markets, hiking trails, cafes, restaurants, farm shops, classic small fishing villages and the sculpture park in Pilane. The island is beautiful all year round and we thrive here in the winter as well. However, summer is our absolute favorite season here on Orust since summer in Bohuslän is magical!
