Dear guests,
Welcome to our nice and cosy little cottage next to the wonderful archipelagos of Swordfish bay, part of Vänern, the biggest lake in Sweden. If you like water/boating excursions and archipelago-safaris you have come to the right place.
The cottage is located between civilization and the wilderness. Facing west you have a small wooden veranda where you can have a snack, drink, barbecue.
The road that take you to civilization
is 300 meters away (Note that you can hear the cars from this distance because the house is located on a hill). On the veranda you have late evening sun. Facing east you have a beautiful pine wood forest and a few meters from the house you can see the lake, islands and the seabirds.
And now the practical things: Free of charge, 300 meters from your house, you have access to a small boat, easy operated, with a small engine. We can provide a small map for you so you can navigate safely between islands, cliffs and shores. Spend your day on the lake with picnic basket, snacks and drinks. (The waters are safe so you dont need to be very experienced).
You also have access to a 3 persons canoe that you can use for your entire stay. (Normal rent price 1500 sek/week but for our guests it's free:)
The cottage is located just next to the famous "Dalslands Kanal" (www.dalslandskanal.se). If you want to take an excursion by car some day there is plenty of sightseeing around you. If you have "roofrack/crossbars" on your car roof you can even tranport the canoe with you and explore the canals. (www.vastsverige.com/sv/dalsland/). If you want to have some service like restaurant/bar and a big sandy beach you can find it 10 km away.
Just a few kilometers away you have the famous Sörknatten (protected area). Here you will find trails, hidden lakes, deep forests and mountains. Here you can experience real wilderness, but beware of the trolls ;-)
